We built Butterfly because learning should not feel like a checkbox.
Butterfly started from a simple frustration: there was no platform that treated storytelling and data as equally important.
Between story and data
We believe the most important learning happens somewhere in between: emotional enough to matter, structured enough to teach, and measurable enough to improve.
On one side, there were powerful films, campaigns and interactive stories that could move people emotionally, but often left organisations with little understanding of how people actually responded.
On the other side, there were learning platforms that could track completion, scores and progress, but often reduced complex situations to mandatory modules, quizzes and checklists.
Butterfly is built to help organisations create experiences that people can step into. Stories that make decisions feel real. Scenarios that reveal how people respond under pressure. Data that helps trainers, educators and teams understand patterns, not just outcomes.
Because when people are asked to make a choice inside a story, they do more than consume information. They reveal how they think.
A team built around technology and judgement.
Butterfly brings together three perspectives that rarely meet inside one platform.
Vincent
Law, defence and humanitarian contexts
Vincent brings experience from law, defence and humanitarian contexts, where rules, responsibility and operational reality often collide.
Sahand
Technology and platform architecture
Sahand brings the technical foundation, turning complex branching structures, user flows and analytics into a platform that can scale beyond a single project.
Travis
Journalism and cinematic storytelling
Travis brings a background in journalism, cinematic storytelling and award-winning interactive films, with work seen in more than 85 countries and translated into over 10 languages.
The future of learning is not more content. It is better participation.
Most people do not change how they think because they watched another video or clicked through another module.
They change when a situation feels close enough to matter. When they have to make a decision. When they see the consequence. When they can reflect on what happened with others.
That is why Butterfly is not only a storytelling platform, and not only an analytics tool.
It is a way to connect experience, choice and insight, so organisations can design learning that is more human, more useful and more honest about how people actually behave.
Emotional enough to matter
People learn differently when a situation feels close enough to enter, not just distant enough to observe.
Structured enough to teach
Branching scenarios make judgement visible by asking learners to choose when the situation is incomplete or under pressure.
Measurable enough to improve
Analytics help trainers and organisations understand patterns in behaviour, not just who completed a module.
